Description
An innovative 'loss awareness' training package which would make a good INSET topic examining the experience of bereavement, be it through the death of a loved one or any other kind of loss. Includes photocopiable material and instructions for more than a dozen training sessions. These include core issues such as:
• Young people's understanding of death
• Models of loss
• Cultural aspects
• Euphemisms
• Death as taboo
• Changes in learning and behaviour.
Each training module includes group activities, templates for OHPs, handouts and a bibliography. The modular structure means sessions can be planned around trainees' needs and broken down into single topics if required.
