This book features 144 listening activities based on phonics and is divided up into 18 sections to cover the sounds for b, c/k, d, f, g, h, j, l, m, n, p, r, s, t, v, w, y, th, sh and ch.

Each section has eight activities, which cover:
• Riddles, which can be solved with the help of the picture pages
• An alliteration activity
• Tongue twisters for the children to repeat
• An ‘odd word out’ activity involving listening for the word that does not begin with the target phoneme
• An ‘odd word out’ activity involving listening for the word that does not rhyme with the other two
• ‘Words to sound out’ involving the teacher sounding out the individual phonemes of a word and the children saying what the word is
• A story that contains words beginning with the target phoneme
• A puzzle worksheet based on the words illustrated on the picture pages in the section.
