S.A.L.T. Programme Teachers’ Manual

The Stop. Ask. Listen. Talk. (S.A.L.T.) programme is designed to alleviate conflict. The comprehensive programme will reduce the incidences of conflict in school by:
• Teaching children appropriate conflict resolution skills
• Introducing a whole-school approach to minimising arguments
• Using conflict assessment forms to identify appropriate follow-on action
• Using step-by-step lessons and interactive teaching ideas to help children resolve their own disputes independently
• By sharing interactive conflict stories to enhance your children’s understanding of conflict and giving them an accessible route to exploring their resolution.
