An old man called Pettson is given a cat called Findus. As the cat grows, so does Pettson’s attachment to him, until one day Findus gets lost and disappears. Eventually Pettson and Findus get reunited and are then able to rejoice in their friendship and the happy ending.
The book is an excellent discussion starter for children to reflect on loss and disappearance, plus the value of friendships.
